Troubleshooting / FAQ
Use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser. Safari and Firefox are not supported for USB flashing.
Make sure you're using a data-quality micro-USB cable. Some USB cables are charging-only and do not support data transfer. Try a different cable if your device isn't appearing in the port selection list. You can buy a data-quality micro-USB cable here.
GDO blaQ: No drivers needed.
Alarm Panel Pro, Alarm Panel v2, GDO White: Windows users may need the CP210x driver from Silicon Labs.
6-zone Alarm Panel (NodeMCU): Install the CH340 driver on Windows or Mac.
Some computers may not provide enough power over USB. Try connecting an external 12V power supply or PoE (for Alarm Panel Pro) while the USB cable is also connected to provide additional power during flashing.
On 6-zone Alarm Panels, Zone 6 must remain open or empty during flashing. Remove any wires connected to Zone 6 before attempting to flash. You can reconnect them after flashing is complete.
Windows: Look for a COM port (e.g., COM3, COM4).
Mac: Look for a port containing "cu.usbserial" or "cu.usbmodem" in the name.
